Kyoto Treaty Goes Into Effect

From The New Scientist:

Russia formally ratified the Kyoto Protocol - aimed at curbing global greenhouse gas emissions - on Thursday. In doing so, it triggered a 90-day countdown to bring the international climate treaty into force.

The world is taking action without us backward folks in the US of A. Expect plenty more international actions like this as the world realizes that the U.S. in little more than a bully on the playground, and is in reality alone and vulnerable. Next step: Dropping the dollar as the primary unit of exchange to be replaced by the Euro.

Condi Rice is being promoted from National Security Advisor to Secretary of State. Couldn't happen to a more incompetent person.

She of the Presidential Daily Brief:

BEN-VENISTE: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?

RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

According to her White House bio, she earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Denver in 1974. I am chagrined to admit that I also studied at the University of Denver (the Graduate School of International Relations).

But this mis-Administration just keeps getting better. From Daily Kos:

Bush plans to replace Rice as National Security Advisor with Stephen Hadley.

Who is Hadley? He was Condi Rice's deputy -- a prime suspect of the Plame outing, and the guy who took the fall for the "yellowcake" reference in Bush's 2003 SOTU address.

So what does the face of human arousal look like? The producers of Orgasm: The Faces of Ecstasy, asked 22 people aged 22-68 to have orgasms for their cameras. Some came alone, some with partners, and were filmed only from the shoulders up, participating in an intimate, yet non-explicit, exploration of the human sexual response cycle. Come see some clips from this new work by co-producers Joani Blank, Marianna Beck and Jack Hafferkamp. Joani, in addition to some of the participants, will be on hand to talk about their experiences.
